  ω-Methyl-11 -deoxy-7-oxaprostaglandin (5a–t), ω-methyl-9,11 -bisdeoxy-7-oxaprostaglandin (6a–t) and their related compounds having a gem-dimethyl, gem-methylethyl,gem-methylpropyl, gem-methylbenzyl or gem-methylallyl group as the ω-chain (5b ~ 5f, 6b ~ 6e) were synthesized starting from cyclotene (1), 2-hydroxy-3-methyl-2-cyclopenten-l-one, which is a principal constituent of coffee aroma and maple flavor.
