  Organocopper compounds add to enones and enoates in the presence of chlorotrimethylsilane in ether giving the conjugate adducts in preparatively useful yields via the silyl enol ethers. Presence of lithium iodide is important and excess of chlorotrimethylsilane accelerates the reactions.
