Stabilities of the N3+(N2)n cluster ions with n=1–11

of N3+ with N2 were measured with a pulsed electron-beam high-pressure mass spectrometer. Van 't Hoff plots of the equilibrium constants lead to the determination of thermochemical stabilities for N3+ (N2)n (n=1–11). The bonding in the clusters N3+ (N2)n is mainly electrostatic. The N3+ (N2)nclusters with n=3, 5, 8, and 10 are relatively more stable toward dissociation than those with n + 1 ligands
