    This invention relates to a membrane type artificial lung which performs gas exchange by use of a porous gas exchange membrane (2) having fine pores (3) as gas flow paths, and more particularly to a membrane type artificial lung wherein fine particles (4) are retained by the fine pores (3) of the porous gas exchange membrane (2) so as to reduce the cross-sectional area of the gas paths and a blood anticoagulant is held by the fine particles (4) or between the fine particles (4). This artificial lung is produced by the steps of assembling a membrane type artificial lung (1) housing therein a porous gas exchange membrane (2) having fine pores (3) as gas paths, causing a dispersion of the fine particles (4) to flow into the lung (1) so as to let the fine pores (3) retain the fine particles (4) and to reduce the cross-sectional area of the gas paths, removing the dispersion remaining inside the lung (1), causing a solution containing a blood anticoagulant to flow into the artificial lung, passing this solution through the fine pores (3) of the gas exchange film and depositinq the blood anticoaqulant to the fine particles (4).

    The invention relates to a foldable intraolcular lens material, characterized in that the material is composed of the following repeat units [I], [II] and [III], and it comprises 60 - 80 wt % of [I], 10 - 30 wt % of [II] and 5 - 20 wt % of [III], based on the total weight of 100%. In formula [I] R1 represents hydrogen atom or alkyl, R2 represents alkylene which can be substituted by hydroxyl group, in addition, the alkylene chain can contain oxygen atom also. In formula [II], R3 represents formula [IIa] [IIb] [IIc],in which R5, R6, R7and R8 represent hydrogen atom or alkyl respectively, m, n, p and q are integers from 1 to 4 or a single bond and R4 is hydrogen atom or alkyl. In formula [III] R9 is hydrogen atom or alkyl and R10 is alkyl.
