Addition of dimethylamine, ethylamine, and piperidine to 1,3-butadiene or 2-methyl-1,3-butadiene effectively occurred over solid base catalysts such as MgO, CaO, SrO, La2O3, and ThO2. Among these catalysts, CaO exhibited the highest activity.
