Disclosed is a relief printing plate precursor for laser engraving comprising a relief-forming layer formed of a resin composition for laser engraving, or a crosslinked relief-forming layer obtained by crosslinking the relief-forming layer formed of the resin composition for laser engraving, wherein the resin composition for laser engraving comprises a binder polymer as Component A, and carbon black of which pH is higher than 6 and an average particle size when being dispersed into water is equal to or less than 500 nm as Component B.
