pentafluorophenylsulfur trifluoride have been prepared. Pentafluorophenylsulfur(II) derivatives are inert to oxidation to sulfur(IV) by normal procedures, but reaction of pentafluorophenyllithium with sulfur dioxide, or silver difluoride oxidative fluorination of the disulfide, provided good synthetic approaches. Chemical reactions and physical properties of these compounds are compared to those of the hydrocarbon sulfur(IV)
