Furoxan derivatives 3-11 were designed and synthesized as potential fungicides. Symmetrically substituted furoxan derivatives 3a-j were prepared by dimerization of the corresponding nitrile oxide generated from N-hydroxyliminoyl chloride 2 in situ.
