制备方法与用途

化学性质
红紫色的发光针形结晶。熔点为123℃，不溶于水，但能溶解在醇、醚及苯中形成红棕色溶液；稍溶于稀酸则呈玫瑰红色溶液。

用途
作为酸碱指示剂使用，其颜色变化范围是pH4.0（呈现红色）至5.0（呈现橙色）。

生产方法
通过将苯胺制成重氮盐，再与α-萘胺偶合而获得。
