The aromatic amine derivatives are novel aromatic amine derivatives having a specific structure. The organic electroluminescence device includes an organic thin film layer formed of one or more layers including at least a light emitting layer, the organic thin film layer being interposed between a cathode and an anode. In the organic electroluminescence device, at least one layer of the organic thin film layer, especially a hole transporting layer, contains the aromatic amine derivative alone or as a component of a mixture.

    An objective of the invention is to provide an organic EL device that combines various materials of the device and a capping layer composed from a material that absorbs sunlight within the wavelength range of 400 nm to 410 nm to prevent impact on materials inside the organic EL device, has a high light absorption coefficient and a high refractive index to significantly improve light extraction efficiency, has excellent stability, durability and light resistance in a thin film, and has no absorption within the wavelength ranges of blue, green and red, to thereby effectively achieve the characteristics of the various materials of the device. The invention is an arylamine compound having a benzazole structure, and is also an organic EL device including a capping layer containing the arylamine compound and a light-emitting layer containing a host and a phosphorescent dopant.

[Solving Means] An organic electroluminescence device including at least an anode electrode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, a cathode electrode, and a capping layer in the stated order, in which the capping layer includes a material having an extinction coefficient of not less than 0.3 at wavelengths of from 400 nm to 410 nm and an absorbance of not less than 0.2 at wavelengths of from 400 nm to 410 nm in an absorption spectrum of a concentration of 10-5 mol/l.
