The present disclosure relates to a process of manufacturing a pressure sensitive adhesive, the process comprising the steps of:
a) providing a precursor composition of a pressure sensitive adhesive;
b) incorporating a degassing additive into the precursor composition of a pressure sensitive adhesive, wherein the degassing additive comprises a porous carrier and an aqueous medium;
c) optionally, allowing the degassing additive to release the aqueous medium into the precursor composition of a pressure sensitive adhesive; and
d) optionally, extracting the water released from the degassing additive, from the precursor composition of a pressure sensitive adhesive.
The present disclosure is also directed to a precursor composition of a pressure sensitive adhesive comprising a degassing additive, wherein the degassing additive comprises a porous carrier and an aqueous medium. The present disclosure further relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive obtainable from the process described above.
