    Assessment of intermolecular N–H…F and N–H…Cl hydrogen bonding in stabilising hetero- and homodimers in solution
    摘要:
    This paper describes the first assessment of intermolecular weak N-H horizontal ellipsis F and N-H horizontal ellipsis Cl hydrogen bonding in stabilising hetero- and homodimers in solution. Aromatic amide and urea monomers have been designed and synthesised. The association constants of the heterodimers formed by two complementary monomers and the homodimers formed by self-complementary monomers have been determined by using H-1 titration and dilution experiments. The results show that both N-H horizontal ellipsis F and N-H horizontal ellipsis Cl hydrogen bonds are able to stabilise the corresponding dimers to a measurable extent, even though the stability of the dimers is generally low.

    (EN) A process is provided for the formation of aromatic polyesters directly from the reaction of dialkyl ester of an aromatic carboxylic acid with dihydric phenols. The polycondensation is carried out in the presence of (a) a condensing agent; (b) a catalyst selected from the group consisting of derivatives of Group I metals, derivatives of Group IV A metals, derivatives of Group IV B metals, and mixtures thereof; and (c) a co-catalyst selected from the group consisting of methanesulfonic acid, sulfuric acid, p-toluenesulfonic acid, alkanoic acid having the formula CnHxFyCOOH, where n is an integer from 1 to 4, x and y are integers from 0 to 2n+1, and the sum of x and y is 2n+1, and mixtures thereof; at suitable temperatures and pressure conditions and for sufficient period of time to form the aromatic polyester.(FR) L'invention a trait à un procédé permettant de produire directement des polyesters aromatiques à partir de la réaction d'un ester dialcoylique d'acide carboxylique aromatique avec des phénols dihydriques. La polycondensation s'effectue en présence, (a), d'un agent de condensation, (b), d'un catalyseur choisi dans le groupe constitué par des dérivés de métaux du groupe I, du groupe IV A et du groupe IV B ainsi que par leurs mélanges et, (c), d'un co-catalyseur choisi dans le groupe constitué par de l'acide méthanesulfonique, de l'acide sulfurique, de l'acide p-toluène-sulfonique et de l'acide alcanoïque répondant à la formule: CnHxFyCOOH, ainsi que par leurs mélanges. Dans cette formule, n représente un nombre entier d'une valeur comprise entre 1 et 4 et x et y des nombres entiers d'une valeur comprise entre 0 et 2n+1, la somme de x et de y valant 2n+1. La réaction précitée a lieu à des températures et dans des conditions de pression convenables durant un délai suffisant pour permettre la formation du polyester aromatique.
