  A (co)polycarbonate the molecular structure of which contains units derived from bisphenols conforming to formulae (1a 1 ) and (1b 1 ) in which R 1 independently of one another represents hydrogen or a C 1 -C 10 -alkyl and R 2 represents C 1 -C 10 -alkyl, or phenyl or benzyl in each case unsubstituted or substituted by at least one member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C 1 -C 10 -alkyl radical. The (co) polycarbonate exhibits relatively high glass transition temperature and improved adhesion to metals.
