  A process for producing an adsorbent where a metal oxide is reacted with an alkoxy silane to produce an epoxy-functionalized metal oxide. This product is reacted with an amino-substituted propionic acid and a nitro-substituted fluorenone, and this product is grafted to the epoxy-functionalized metal oxide. This grafted product is the adsorbent, which may be contacted with a hydrocarbon mixture having at least one sulfur containing compound in order to remove this sulfur containing compound. Also disclosed is a process for adding polymerization groups to an adsorbent.

  A process for adsorbing aromatic sulfur compounds, where an adsorbent is contacted with a C 6 -C 20 aromatic and/or aliphatic stream which comprises a solution of (i) at least one benzothiophene compound, (ii) a solvent which comprises at least one C 6 -C 16 aliphatic compound, and (iii) optionally at least one C 6 -C 12 aromatic compound. In this process, the adsorbent is regenerated using an organic regenerant such as, but not limited to, toluene. Also disclosed is another process for adsorbing aromatic sulfur compounds.   [FR] L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un adsorbant dans lequel on fait réagir un oxyde de métal avec un alcoxy-silane pour produire un oxyde de métal à fonction époxy. On fait réagir ce produit avec un acide propionique substitué par un groupe amino et une fluorénone substituée par un groupe nitro, et ce produit est greffé sur l'oxyde de métal à fonction époxy. Ce produit greffé est l'adsorbant, qui peut être mis en contact avec un mélange d'hydrocarbures comprenant au moins un composé soufré afin d'éliminer ce composé soufré. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour ajouter des groupes de polymérisation à un adsorbant.
