The reaction of some arylcopper(I) complexes with carbon disulphide and bis (diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm), in toluene, affords the trithiocarbonato complex [Cu4(dppm)4(CS3)2], whose structure as the toluene solvate was shown by X-ray analysis to consist of a square arrangement of copper atoms with the dppm ligands bridging the edges; each of the two trithiocarbonate anions is bonded to all the four copper atoms through two sulphur atoms only.

External oxidant-free oxidative cross-coupling between arylcopper and alkynylcopper has been performed, which provides a new way for the formation of arylalkyne with high selectivity.

The insertion products [ArCS2Cudppm]2 and [(o-tolylCS2Cu)2dppm]2 (dppm bis(diphenylphosphino)methane) were isolated after addition of dppm to CS2 solutions of arylcopper(I) (Ar phenyl, o-, m- and p-tolyl). Another series of complexes, tentatively assigned the formula [Cu6(dppm)2Ar4C4S9], was also isolated. All the complexes were non electrolytes and were characterized by IR and 1H and 31P NMR spectra
