silica-coated nano γ-Fe2O3 is reported. After characterization using FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM and TGA techniques, the prepared reagent was used for the efficient promotion of the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazolopyrimidine/quinazolinone derivatives with excellent rates and yields. The recovery and reusability of the catalyst were also studied for both of the reactions using an external magnet.
