A Ph3P‐catalyzed cyclization of α‐halogeno ketones 2 with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates (=dialkyl but‐2‐ynedioates) 3 produced halogenatedα,β‐unsaturated γ‐butyrolactone derivatives 4 in good yields (Scheme 1, Table).
