    Terpolymers having a molecular weight of at least about 100,000 and a glass transition temperature of at least about 50°C comprising repeating units derived from an olefin, a diester of an addition polymerizable unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, and a solubilizing monomer which promotes compatibility of the terpolymer with a vinyl halide polymer are useful in particulate form as processing aids for polyvinyl halide polymers. Compositions comprising blends of vinyl halide polymers and the terpolymers are adapted for use in producing polyvinyl halide polymer products such as shaped plastic articles.

    A moisture crosslinking coating material soluble in solvents comprises as a vehicle a resin having an epoxy group and at least one kind of hydrophilic group selected from the group consisting of SO₃M, SO₄M, PO₃M₂ and PO₄M₂ where M is an alkali metal ion or ammonium ion. The coating material has good dispersion of pigments, is excellent in forming thick layer coating, gives a coating layer excellent in weatherability, resistance against chemicals and resistance against solvents by crosslinking with moisture at room temperature.

    In a process for recovering low-boiling point substances wherein a low-boiling point substance-containing polymer latex is atomized from a nozzle equipped at the upper part of an evaporator to evaporate the low-boiling point substances, the polymer latex is atomized over the surface of a polymer latex retained in a first evaporator maintained at a pressure of 50 to 130 torr, and then, the polymer latex is atomized over the surface of a polymer latex retained in a second evaporator maintained at a pressure of 100 to 240 torr which is higher than that of the first evaporator; each of the polymer latexes to be atomized in the first and second evaporators is maintained at a temperature of 10 to 30°C higher than the saturated steam temperature in the respective evaporator. By this process, low-boiling point substances such as unreacted monomer can be recovered with high efficiency from the polymer latex.

    The present invention relates to a method of preparing a vinyl chloride-based copolymer having excellent plasticity and processability, a vinyl chloride-based copolymer prepared thereby, a thermoplastic resin composition including the vinyl chloride-based copolymer, and a thermoplastic resin molded article prepared from the composition. Since the preparation method may improve copolymerizability with a vinyl chloride-based monomer by continuously adding or dividedly adding an unsaturated fatty acid ester mixture used as a comonomer during the time of specific polymerization conversion rate, the unreacted unsaturated fatty acid ester mixture may be reduced, and, as a result, the conversion rate of the vinyl chloride-based copolymer may be significantly improved. Thus, plasticity and processability of a vinyl chloride-based copolymer prepared by the above method may be significantly improved.
