    A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, the color photographic light-sensitive material containing a coupler which releases a compound after the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a developing agent, the released compound being capable of releasing further a photographically useful group by an oxidation-reduction reaction with the oxidation product of another developing agent. The compound used in the present invention is chemically stable and can release a photographically useful group under control; therefore the silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material containing the compound has good stability during storage and high sensitivity and provides a color image having good image qualities such as sharpness, graininess, color reproducibility, etc.

    The present invention relates to a method for preparing an emulsifiable solid agrochemical composition which contains an inorganic salt and which can be used as an agrochemical emulsion. The preparation method according to the present invention has the advantage that, because there is no need for a step of heating and evaporating a solvent or water, it is possible to use a surfactant or active ingredient that has a low boiling point or breaks down drastically at a high temperature, and, due to the solid-phase form, it is possible to minimize the amount that sticks to a container as there is no need to use a special synthetic resin or glass bottle that entails high packaging costs. Also, a granular emulsifier (EG) or a powdery emulsifier (EP) produced by means of the method according to the present invention can be further diluted in water before use so as to form common emulsion (EC) emulsified particles (0.1 µm to 100 µm) to transparent microemulsion particles (0.001 µm to 1 µm or 1 nm to 1000 nm), and thus the emulsion size can be freely modified so as to maximise the activity of the agrochemical component in accordance with the characteristics of a crop or an insect pest.

    A process for preparation of ceftiofur of formula (I) of high purity and substantially free from impurities is disclosed. The process comprises reacting [2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)]-2-syn-methoxyimino acetic acid-2-benzothiazolyl thioester of formula (II), with 7-amino-3-(2-furanylcarbonylthiomethyl)-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid of formula (III) in the presence of a mixture of an water-immescible inert organic solvent and water and in the presence of a organic base and isolating ceftiofur of formula (1) substantially free of impurities by, d) adding water to the reaction mixture and selectively partitioning the impurities in the organic phase and ceftiofur (I) in the form of a salt with the base in the aqueous phase, e) acidifying the aqueous phase containing ceftiofur (I) in the form of a salt with the base in the presence of a mixture containing a water-miscible and a water-immiscible organic solvent and in the presence of a saturated aqueous solution of an alkali or alkaline earth containing salt, to partition ceftiofur (I) in the organic phase, and f) isolating ceftiofur (I) of high purity and substantially free of impurities by evaporation of the organic solvent or precipitation by addition of a co-solvent.
