Synthesis of 1,4‐Disubstituted 1,2,3‐Triazoles from Terminal Vinyl Sulfones in Ionic Liquid: A Metal‐Free Eliminative Azide‐Olefinic Cycloaddition Route to Triazolyl Carbohydrates and Triazole‐linked Bissaccharides

Eliminative Azide-Olefinic Cycloaddition strategy has been utilized for the metal-free regioselective synthesis of 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles from terminal vinyl sufones in ionic liquid water mixture at 100oC. Both non-carbohydrate and carbohydrate-based terminal vinyl sulfones afforded different 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles as well as several triazoles-linked bissaccharides.
