  Cross-linked polycarbosilanes are obtained from the reaction of Cl(2)MeSiCHCl(2) and Mg in tetrahydrofuran, followed by reduction with LiAlH4. Analysis by NMR spectroscopy shows that most polycarbosilane is of the formula [MeSiCH](n).
