    在较宽的频率和温度范围内,研究了聚(乙烯2,6-萘二甲酸二乙酯)(PEN)以及2,6-萘二甲酸和对苯二甲酸与乙二醇的几种共聚物的介电损耗谱。以前,Ezquerra,Balta-Calleja和Zachmann报告了在等时温度扫描介电损耗中,除了与聚(乙烯)类似的亚玻璃过程(β)外,PEN均聚物中还存在亚玻璃过程(β*)。对苯二甲酸酯(PET)。在目前的工作中,PEN和PET / PEN共聚物中的β和β*过程都得到了解析,并通过等温频率扫描进行了表征。发现在PEN和共聚物中较低的温度β损失峰具有复杂或复合的频域结构,在其表示中需要两个Cole-Cole过程。发现随着对苯二甲酸含量的增加,共聚物中的β*过程等温转变为高频(或等时降低低温)。对PET先前电介质数据的分析表明,其β亚玻璃过程在对数频率轴上也很复杂,但必须用三个Cole-Cole过程表示。两个较高的频率分量与构成PEN中β过程的两个

    An object of the present invention is to provide a polyester film having excellent dimensional stability to temperature and humidity. The present invention is a polyester containing a dicarboxylic acid component and a diol component, wherein (i) the dicarboxylic acid component contains not less than 5 mol % and less than 50 mol % of a recurring unit represented by the following formula (A) and more than 50 mol % and not more than 95 mol of a recurring unit represented by the following formula (B): wherein R A is an alkylene group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, wherein R B is a phenylene group or naphthalenediyl group; and (ii) the diol component contains 90 to 100 mol % of a recurring unit represented by the following formula (C): —O—R C —O—  (C) wherein R C is an alkylene group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, and a film comprising the same.

    The process for preparing polyethylene naphthalate according to the invention is intended to obtain polyethylene naphthalate having a low impurity content from naphthalenedicarboxylic acid containing impurities. This process comprises the steps of: mixing crude naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and an ethylene glycol aqueous solution, heating the resulting mixture to esterify a part of the naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and thereby give a naphthalenedicarboxylic acid ester and dissolving the naphthalenedicarboxylic acid ester in the ethylene glycol aqueous solution; then contacting impurities, which are contained in the crude naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and capable of being hydrogenated, with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to hydrogenate the impurities and dissolving the hydrogenated impurities in the ethylene glycol aqueous solution; and subsequently crystallizing the naphthalenedicarboxylic acid ester, separating the resulting crystals from the ethylene glycol aqueous solution and polycondensing the resulting naphthalenedicarboxylic acid ester. The method of purifying crude naphthalenedicarboxylic acid is intended to obtain naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and a naphthalenedicarboxylic acid ester having a low content of aldehydes from naphthalenedicarboxylic acid containing aldehydes. This method comprises the steps of: mixing crude naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and an alcohol aqueous solution, heating the resulting mixture to esterify a part of the naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and thereby give a naphthalenedicarboxylic acid ester and dissolving the naphthalenedicarboxylic acid ester in the alcohol aqueous solution; then contacting aldehydes, which are contained in the crude naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, with a sulfite to give aldehyde adducts and dissolving the aldehyde adducts in the alcohol aqueous solution; and subsequently crystallizing the naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and the naphthalenedicarboxylic acid ester and separating them from the alcohol aqueous solution.

    To provide an aromatic polyester which is formed into a film having excellent heat resistance, color, mechanical properties, dimensional stability and gas barrier properties and a manufacturing process thereof; the aromatic polyester comprises a dicabroxylic acid component and a diol component, wherein (i) the dicarboxylic acid component contains 50 to 100 mol% of a recurring unit represented by the following formula (A): wherein R is an alkylene group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, (ii) the aromatic polyester has an intrinsic viscosity measured at 35°C by using a mixed solvent of P-chlorophenol and 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane (weight ratio of 40/60) of 0.4 to 3.0; (iii) the aromatic polyester has a content of a recurring unit represented by the following formula (D) of less than 10 mol%:         -O-CH2CH2-O-CH2CH2-O-     (D) (iv) the aromatic polyester has a terminal carboxyl group concentration of 200 eq/ton or less; and (v) the aromatic polyester has an alkali metal content of 300 ppm or less.
