    Disclosed is an antibacterial agent composition which is highly safe and has excellent antibacterial abilities, by using a silicon-containing compound that is obtained by a specific manufacturing method. The antibacterial agent composition has a more stable antibacterial component, and is capable of imparting antibacterial abilities to teeth, while being also capable of cleaning an article or the mouth. Also disclosed are: an antiviral agent composition which is highly safe and has excellent virus deactivation abilities; an antibacterializing method, a cleaning/mouth rinsing method, each using the antibacterial agent composition or the antiviral agent composition; and a method for fixing an antibacterial agent or an antiviral agent. The antibacterial agent composition may contain a silicon-containing compound which is represented by general formula (1) and obtained by reacting a specific triethoxysilyl compound in an ethanol solvent.

    Solutions of cellulose or cellulose ethers in solvent containing triethylheptylammonium chloride, triethyloctylammonium chloride, triethylhexylammonium acetate, triethylheptylammonium acetate, triethyloctylammonium acetate, triethylnonylammonium acetate and/or triethyldecylammonium acetate are provided. The solvent may further include up to 70 wt % of at least one organic solvent, with acetone being the preferred organic solvent. The solution can be formed into a paste for removing paint from wood or metal surfaces. The cellulose (ether) solution can also serve as a reaction medium in which the cellulose and/or the cellulose ether are chemically modified. Finally, the cellulose (ether) solution can be processed into cellulosic shaped articles.

    According to the present invention, a solidified detergent composition is provided. The solidified detergent composition is characterized by having a reduced-pressure dried substance obtained by reduced-pressure drying a solution of (a) a silicon-containing compound with the addition of (b) at least one of surfactant to the silicon-containing compound, or a reduced-pressure dried substance obtained by reduced-pressure drying a solution of (a) a silicon-containing compound and (b) at least one of surfactant added to the resultant reduced-pressure dried substance, the silicon-containing compound being represented by the following general formula (1): (wherein R1 shows a hydrocarbon group having 6 or more carbon atom number, R2 and R3 show a lower hydrocarbon group which may be same or different each other, R4 shows a bivalent lower hydrocarbon group, R5, R6 and R7 show a lower alkyl group or lower alkoxy group which may be same or different each other, X shows a halogen ion or organic carbonyloxy ion) and the surfactant being selected from the group consisting of (b1) a cationic surfactant (but excluding the above silicon-containing compound) and (b2) a nonionic surfactant.

    An object of the present invention is to provide a method of fixing an antibacterial agent, by which method it is possible to impart articles of a wide range of materials with excellent antibacterial property and good persistence of antibacterial activity. Specifically, the method of fixing an antibacterial agent, comprises the steps of: subjecting a surface of an article to a surface treatment of providing the surface with oxygen-containing functional groups; and then subjecting the article to a treatment using an antibacterial agent composition including a silicon-containing compound (a) represented by general formula (1) below. wherein R1 represents a hydrocarbon group having 6 or more carbon atoms, R2 and R3 represent lower hydrocarbon groups, respectively, which hydrocarbon groups may be the same or different from each other, R4 represents a divalent lower hydrocarbon group, R5, R6 and R7 represent lower alkyl groups or lower alkoxy groups, respectively, which may be the same or different from each other, and X represents a halogen ion or an organic carbonyloxy ion, or alternatively, first treating the article by using the antibacterial agent composition; and then subjecting the article to a 1-10 GHz microwave irradiation treatment in a state where the antibacterial agent composition remains on the surface of the article.
