sustainable protocol for cobalt-catalyzed crotylation of aldehydes. The developed method tolerated a wide range of aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes with retention of functional groups under mild conditions and produced good-to-excellent yields of crotylated secondary alcohols. Based on preliminary mechanistic studies and literature precedents, a plausible mechanism is proposed.
