The polymer-bound palladium-catalyzedcross-couplingreaction of electrophiles(i.e., halides and triflates) with organoboron compounds to form carbon-carbon bonds was achieved at mild conditions with very high activity in the Suzuki coupling reaction. The polymeric catalyst can be easily separated from a reaction mixture and reused more than 10 times with no decrease in activity

The reaction of (E)- or (Z)-1-alkenyldicyclohexylboranes (1 or 2) with either (Z)- or (E)-2-halo-1-(alkylseleno)ethenes (3 or 4) in the presence of a catalytic amount of tetrakis (triphenylphosphine) palladium and sodium methoxide provides the corresponding (Z,E)-1-alkylseleno-1,3-alkadienes (5, 6 or 7) with the retention of the configuration from the alkenylboranes and haloalkylselenoethenes.
Stereo- and regiospecific syntheses to provide conjugated (E,Z)- and (Z,Z)-alkadienes, and arylated (Z)-alkenes in excellent yields via the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of (Z)-1-alkenylboronates with 1-bromoalkenes and aryl iodides
