    New Metabolites of C-Glycosidic Ellagitannin from Japanese Oak Sapwood
    摘要:
    Two unusual ellagitannin metabolites, quercusnins A (3) and B (4), have been isolated from the sapwood of Quercus crispula, and their structures determined by spectroscopic methods, as well as DFT calculations of H-1 and C-13 NMR chemical shifts of the possible four diastereomers. Treatment of the major ellagitannin species, vescalagin, with Shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes) gave 3, which indicated that these unique ellagitannins were the fungal metabolites of ellagitannins.

    Three novel complex tannins (flavano-ellagitannins), anogeissinin (9) and anogeissuisins A (10) and B (11), have been isolated from the bark of Anogeissus acuminata (ROXB. ex DC.) GUILL. et PERR. var. lanceolata WALL. ex CLARKE (Combretaceae), together with eight known C-glycosidic hydrolyzable tannins. On the basis of spectroscopic and chemical evidence, anogeissinin (9) was shown to have two C-glycosidic ellagitannin (vescalagin) moieties connected to the C-6 and C-8 positions in the (+)-catechin moiety, while anogeissusins A (10) and B (11) have structures in which the dimeric C-glycosidic ellagitannin, castamollinin (8), is attached to the C-8 position of the (+)-catechin and (+)-gallocatechin moieties, respectively.

    Six new complex tannins, guajavins A (5) and B (1), psidinins A (9), B (11) and C (13), and psiguavin (15), together with a variety of condensed, hydrolyzable and complex tannins, have been isolated from the bark of Psidium guajava L. (Myrtaceae). On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence, the structures of guajavins and psidinins were established to consist of a (+)-gallocatechin unit and a hydrolyzable tannin moiety linked C-glycosidically, while psiguavin was found to be a novel metabolite probably derived from eugenigrandin A (7) through successive oxidation, benzylic acid-type rearrangement, decarboxylation and oxidative coupling of the gallocatechin B-ring and one of the aromatic rings in the hydrolyzable tannin moiety.
