    were isolated from aerial parts of Cimicifuga foetida. Their structures were determined by application of spectroscopic analyses and chemical methods. Biological evaluation of the compounds against human HL-60, SMMC-7721, A549, SK-BR-3, and PANC-1 cell lines indicated that three of these compounds exhibited broad-spectrum and moderate cytotoxic activities, with IC₅₀ values ranging from 6.20 to 22.74

    Three new cycloartane glycosides, 24‐epicimigenol 3‐(α‐L‐arabinopyranoside) (1), (3β,16β)‐cycloartane‐3,16,22,24,25‐pentol 3‐(β‐D‐xylopyranoside) (2), and (3β,15α,16β)‐cycloartane‐3,15,16,24,25‐pentol 3‐(β‐D‐xylopyranoside) (3), together with five known compounds, including four cycloartane glycosides and bergenin, were isolated from the rhizomes of Cimicifuga foetida.
