Convenient syntheses and interconversions of fluorophosphine complexes of rhodium of the type (a) L2RhCOCl, (b) L3RhCl, (c)[L2RhCl]2, and (d) L(Ph3P)2RhCl [L = fluorophosphine] are described: 19F n.m.r. studies establish the trans-stereochemistry of (a) and (d) and in the latter case provide evidence for exchange of both types of phosphine co-ordinated to the metal.

5-dienerhodium(I) complexes containing coordinated 1,3-di-t-butyl-2,4-dihalogenocyclodiphosphazanes (PXNtBu)2 (X = Cl, F) and related ligands are described. 31P NMR spectroscopic studies have established two different types of coordination mode of the ring system and their interconversion. A single crystalstructure determination on [Rh2Cl2(η4-C8H12)2(PFNtBu)2] confirms the proposed structure.
