Methylmercury(II) and phenylmercury(II) dithiophosphinates [HgR(S2PR′2)] (R Me or Ph; R′ Et or Cy) were synthesized. In [HgPh(S2PEt2)] the mercury atom is coordinated to a phenyl carbon atom and to one S atom of the dithiophosphinate (HgC, 2.07(2) Å, HgS, 2.375(3) Å). The other sulphur atom of the dithiophosphinate forms two weak Hg ⋯ S interactions, one intramolecular and other intermolecular
