  摘要 二卤甲烷和二乙胺反应形成的盐与酚类化合物反应生成相应的曼尼希碱，收率适中。至于相对率和收率的顺序如下：CH2Br2>CH2Cl2。CD2Cl2 也适用于制备氘代类似物。在较高温度下，二乙胺从曼尼希碱中消除，得到相应的邻醌甲基化物中间体，然后被另一种酚类化合物捕获，得到双（2-羟基-1-芳基）甲烷。
