A new solventless method for the synthesis of symmetrical and unsymmetrical ureas, starting fromethylenecarbonate and amines, is reported. 1,5,7-Triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene(TBD) and thioureas have been found to be efficient organocatalysts for this reaction.
The present invention pertains, at least in part, to novel substituted tetracycline compounds. These tetracycline compounds can be used to treat numerous tetracycline compound-responsive states, such as bacterial infections and neoplasms.
