  Pyrroles and thiophenes reacted with alkynes in the presence of dinuclear palladium complexes with high stereoselectivity (cis-addition) in almost all cases. While regioselectivity in the reaction with pyrroles depended on substituents on the nitrogen atom and alkynes all reactions of thiophenes afforded 2-alkenylthiophenes. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd.
