To gauge the feasibility of carbenoid eliminative cross-coupling for the synthesis of polyfunctional alkenes, a P-glycoprotein inhibitor containing an (E)-configured 4-chromanylidene-type trisubstituted olefin was prepared as well as its previously undescribed (Z)-isomer.
