  (EN) The present thienopyrimidine derivatives of formula (I) and compositions having ganodotropin-releasing hormone antagonistic activity are useful as propylactics or therapeutic agents for the prevention or treatment of several hormone dependent diseases, for example, a sex hormone dependent cancer (e.g., prostatic cancer, uterine cervical cancer, breast cancer, pituitary adenoma), benign prostatic hypertrophy, myoma of the uterus, endometriosis, precocious puberty, amenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome and acne vulgaris; are effective as a fertility controlling agent in both sexes (e.g., a preganancy controlling agent and a menstrual cycle controlling agent); can be used as a male or female contraceptive, as an ovulation-inducing agent; can be used as an infertility treating agent by using a rebound effect owing to a stoppage of administration thereof; and are useful for modulating estrous cycles in animals in the field of animal husbandry, as agents for improving the quality of edible meat or promoting the growth of animals; and as agents for promoting spawning in fish.(FR) La présente invention concerne des dérivés de thiénopyrimidine représentés par la formule (I) et des compositions présentant une activité antagoniste par rapport à la gn-RH (gonadoréline) et particulièrement utiles comme agents prophylactiques ou thérapeutiques de prévention ou de traitement de plusieurs affections d'étiologie hormonale: cancer dépendant d'hormones sexuelles (cancer de la prostate, du col de l'utérus, du sein, adénome hypophysaire), hypertrophie prostatique bénigne, myome de l'utérus, endométriose, puberté précoce, aménorrhée, syndrome prémenstruel, syndrome de Stein-Levinthal et acné vulgaire. Ces dérivés sont des régulateurs efficaces de la fertilité des deux sexes (régulateur de grossesse et du cycle menstruel). Ces dérivés sont également utiles comme contraceptifs mâles ou femelles, comme inducteurs de l'ovulation, et comme agents de traitement de la stérilité par utilisation de l'effet de rebond suivant un arrêt d'administration. Dans le domaine zootechnique, ces dérivés conviennent enfin comme modulateurs du cycle ÷stral des animaux, comme agent améliorant la qualité de la viande comestible ou favorisant la croissance des animaux, et, en aquaculture, comme agents favorisant le frai.
