A mild cross-coupling reaction of heteroaryl sulfinates with Grignardreagents has been developed under transition-metal-free conditions. This study provides an example of the SO22– as a leaving group in an aromatic system and an effective methodology for the construction of C–C bond.
The present disclosure is directed to a phosphorus-modified ionic liquid compound, the synthesis thereof and an electrochemical cell electrolyte containing the phosphorus-modified ionic liquid compound.

Benzo[α]quinoliziniumsalts have been synthesized through ring-closing metathesis reactions of 1-butenyl-2-vinylisoquinolinium, 2-butenyl-1-vinylisoquinolinium and 2-styryl-1-vinylpyridinium salts in the presence of Grubbs and Hoveyda-Grubbs catalysts. The results show that the last approach is the most efficient for the preparation of this heteroaromatic tricyclic system and several previously unknown
