SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF HETEROBIMETALLIC ALKOXIDE TRIETHANOLAMINATE DERIVATIVES OF ZIRCONIUM

Novel heterobimetallic isopropoxide derivatives have been prepared by the 1:2 molar reactions of Zr{(OCH2CH2)(2) N(CH2CH2OH)}(2) zwith Al(OPr-i)(3) or Nb(OPr-i)(5) in benzene under refluxing conditions. The reactions of heterobimetallic alkoxide-triethanolaminate derivatives with chelating ligands such as acetylacetone or methoxyethanol have been investigated. All of these derivatives have been characterized by elemental analyses, molecular weight measurements and spectroscopic [IR, NMR (H-1, Al-27)] studies.
