The synthesis of novelbis(diamino)thiazoles has been achieved by reacting bis(bromoacetyl)benzene and 1-alkyl(or aryl)-3-(N-nitroamidino)thioureas in presence of triethylamine. These new compounds were characterized by spectral analysis and screened for antimicrobial activities. J. Heterocyclic Chem., 46, 455 (2009).

A facile one-pot sequential three-component route to 2,4-diaminothiazoles is reported. The new approach employs the mildest reaction conditions and commercially available reagents to generate diverse 2-alkyl/arylamino-4-amino-5-aroyl/heteroylthiazoles in short reaction times, good yield, and purity.
