Novel ladder‐type conjugated polymers, fused poly (benzopentalene) derivatives, were synthesized from the readily accessible 1,4‐dibromo‐2,5‐diethynylbenzene derivatives by the Pd‐catalyzed self‐polycondensation in one‐step with high yields.
