  Tetralintricarbonylchromium exchanges anti and syn benzylic protons in a solution of potassium tert-butoxide DMSO-d6. Under the same conditions the syn benzylic tertiary proton of trans-1-methyltetralintricarbonylchromium remains unchanged. The anti and syn benzylic protons of dihydroanthracenetricarbonylchromium and xanthenetricarbonylchromium undergo exchange and trans-9-methyl xanthenetricarbonylchromium undergoes exchange and epimerisation.
