A transition‐metal‐free approach to the alkylation/arylation of benzoxazole was developed by employing Tf2O‐activated‐amide as the alkylating/arylating reagent. The mild reaction conditions, and particularly insensitivity to air and water, further enhance the synthetic potential in pharmaceutical synthesis.
A Domino Copper-Catalyzed CN and CO Cross-Coupling for the Conversion of Primary Amides into Benzoxazoles

Benzoxazoles can be efficiently prepared in a single step and in good yield from primaryamides and o-dihalobenzenes using Cu catalysis. Starting from substituted o-bromochlorobenzenes this unusual domino reaction allows the regioselective formation of benzoxazoles.
