Bicycle/cyclic peptide toolkit: Two polar hinges for cyclization of peptides have been developed, leading to bicyclic peptides and cyclized peptides with improved solubility and biological activity. The new hinges also likely impose different conformations on peptides, and this makes them attractive reagents for the synthesis of combinatorial libraries of (bi)cyclic peptides.
