N-(1- and 4-diamantyl)amides have been synthesized by the reaction of diamantane with organic nitriles in the presence of CBr4 under the action of granulated zeolite FeHY. The optimal ratios of the catalyst, reagents and the conditions for preparation of 1-N-diamantylamides in high yield have been found.

Abstract N-(Diamantan-1- and 4-yl) carboxamides were synthesized by reaction of diamantane with carboxylic acid amides in the presence of carbontetrachloride and binder-free Ni-HY zeolite. Optimal amounts of the reactants and catalyst and reaction conditions were found to obtain the target products in high yields.

Résumé The diamantane functionalized triazacyclononane ligand (DiaArOH)3tacn (L3) has been synthesized and the reactivity of its U(III) metallated product [((DiaArO)3tacn)U] (1) has been explored. Complex 1 promotes dichloromethane and azidotrimethylsilane activation to generate U(IV) complex [((DiaArO)3tacn)U(Cl)] (2) and U(V) complex [((DiaArO)3tacn)U(NTMS)] (3), respectively. Spectroscopic investigations of complexes 1, 2, and 3 will be discussed, along with molecular structures where possible.
