A number of indenes have been prepared in good yields by treating o-bromobenzyl zinc bromide 1 with various terminal and internal alkynes in the presence of a nickel catalyst. The nickel-catalyzed carboannulation reaction was successfully extended to the synthesis of indane derivatives by reaction of 1 with acrylates and styrene.
The present invention provides a hybrid supported catalyst capable of easily preparing an olefin polymer capable of having improved melt strength even while having appropriate molecular weight distribution, and thus having improved bubble stability and exhibiting excellent blown film processability, and a method for preparing an olefin polymer using the same.

A facile IrIII-catalyzed benzylicalkylation of arenes with alcohols has been accomplished via borrowing hydrogen (BH) pathways, and the newly developed spirocyclic NHC IrIII pincer complex (Cat A) serves as an efficient catalyst for this atom-economical and greener transformation. Some drug or bioactive molecules and functional material templates can be easily constructed by this strategy.
