Described herein are compounds, methods of making such compounds, pharmaceutical compositions and medicaments containing such compounds, and methods of using such compounds to treat or prevent diseases or disorders associated with the enzyme ceramide galactosyltransferase (CGT), such as, for example, lysosomal storage diseases. Examples of lysosomal storage diseases include, for example, Krabbe disease and Metachromatic Leukodystrophy.

active and efficient catalyst system derived from a palladium precatalyst and monophosphine ligands 1 or 2 for the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction of heteroaryl boronic acids and esters has been developed. This method allows for the preparation of a wide variety of heterobiaryls in good to excellent yields and displays a high level of activity for the coupling of heteroaryl chlorides as well as
A series of benzoquinolin-3-ones are pharmaceuticals effective in treating conditions consequent on both Type I and Type II 5.alpha.-reductase and their preparation is disclosed.
Non-steroidal compounds which are high affinity, high selectivity modulators for steroid receptors are disclosed. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions incorporating such compounds, methods for employing the disclosed compounds and compositions for treating patients requiring steroid receptor agonist or antagonist therapy, intermediates useful in the preparation of the compounds and processes for the preparation of the steroid receptor modulator compounds.

Herein, we report a new method for the one-pot syntheses of sulfonyl fluorides. Addition of an alkyl, aryl, or heteroaryl Grignard to a solution of sulfuryl fluoride at ambient temperature affords the desired sulfonyl fluorides in 18-78% yield. Furthermore, this method is applicable for in situ sequential reactions, whereby the Grignard reagent can be converted to the corresponding diarylsulfone, sulfonate
