[GRAPHICS]Hexahydrodipyrrins 15 (X = H-2) have been prepared by two routes: Pd(0)-initiated coupling/cyclization of triflates 11 and alkyne amines 12 and reduction of semicorrins 26 (X = 0).
Free metal jacket: A regioselective metal‐free synthesis of polysubstitutedpyrroles has been developed through a (diacetoxyiodo)benzene‐mediated cascadereaction of alkynyl amines in moderate to good yield (see scheme).

Broad substrate scope and functional group tolerance have been demonstrated. In addition, site-selective postfunctionalization allowed for further diversification of macrocyclic cores.
