The reaction of 4,7,10-trithiatrideca-2,11-diyne with RhCl(PPh3)(3) results in cleavage and rearrangement of the diyne with formation of the structurally characterized complex RhCl(CdropCMe)(PPh3){kappa(3)-S,S,S"-S(CH=CH2)CH2CH2SCH=CMeS}.

The reactions of[Os(CO)(CA)(PPh3)(3)] (A = O, S) with 4,7,10-trithiatrideca-2,11-diyne provide cyclopentadienone and cyclopentadienethione complexes, the latter affording a novel polythioether macrotricyclic ligand on subsequent treatment with dimethylacetylene-dicarboxylate.
