  (EN) Novel tricyclic N-cyanoimine compounds and pharmaceutical compositions are disclosed which are inhibitors of the enzyme, farnesyl-protein transferase. Also disclosed is a method of inhibiting Ras function and therefore inhibiting the abnormal growth of cells. The method comprises administering the novel tricyclic N-cyanoimines compound to a biological system. In particular, the method inhibits the abnormal growth of cells in mammals such as a human.(FR) On décrit des composés et compositions pharmaceutiques nouveaux à base de N-cyano-imine tricyclique, lesquels constituent des inhibiteurs de l'enzyme farnésyle transférase. On décrit également un procédé d'inhibition de la fonction Ras et donc d'inhibition de la croissance anormale des cellules. Ce procédé consiste à administrer le nouveau composé de N-cyano-imine tricyclique à un système biologique, et il sert notamment à inhiber la croissance anormale des cellules chez un mammifère tel que l'homme.
