  A number of N-heteroaryl aminonaphthols (Betti bases) were prepared from the reaction of 2-naphthol, 3-aminopyridine, and aromatic aldehydes. Subsequent condensation of the prepared Betti bases with oxalyl chloride afforded the novel naphth[1,2-f][1,4]oxazepine-3,4-dione heterocycles in moderate to high yields. J.
