3-取代的氧杂环丁烷是现代开环聚合的有价值的单体。通过将N 2 O 5加入到oxetan-3-one中,合成了一种新的固态氧化剂3,3-二丁氧基氧杂环丁烷(C 3 H 4 N 2 O 7),其氧含量为62.2%。适用于X-射线衍射(单斜晶单晶ρ 1.80克厘米-3通过从二氯甲烷中重结晶获得)。另外,通过改进的方法制备了3-硝基氧杂环丁烷,并且首次合成了3-硝基-3-甲基氧杂环丁烷。理论计算由EXPLO5软件计算,此外还确定了对冲击和摩擦的敏感性。
