  (EN) A method of cleaving a carbon-nucleophile bond in a chemical compound, said method comprising the steps of: a) adding a Lewis acid to said compound; b) allowing the reaction to proceed; and c) subsequently quenching said reaction. The method of the invention is particularly effective when the compound includes a benzyloxy group, substituted or not substituted, and when the carbon-nucleophile bond is the bond between the benzylic carbon atom and the oxygen atom of the benzyloxy group.(FR) Procédé de clivage d'une liaison carbone-nucléophile dans un composé chimique, ce qui consiste à (a) ajouter un acide de Lewis à ce composé; (b) permettre à la réaction de s'effectuer; (c) arrêter ladite réaction.
